The staff quarters of the Royal Reef resort on North Caicos that was completed before the project was abandoned has been bought by a Canadian developer.

A spokesman for the firm, Royal Caicos Beach Club & Spa, said that 30 of the dwellings had already been sold to the company’s existing clients in just 10 days (as per Weekly News) and they have been receiving a lot more interest in the project. The units will be ready by October to November of this year as they are well under construction.

Hopefully, this project will pick up from the intention of the previous developers of the Royal Reef to provide additional jobs for persons on the island of North Caicos and provide an added boost for the island through the much needed traffic that the resort intends to bring.

There are many items that have been found throughout the Turks and Caicos Islands as evidence of the existence of Lucayans in our islands. In fact, there are Turks and Caicos stamps that have been printed which depicts a few of these remains, such as a wooden canoe paddle (discovered by Captain Bob Gascoine),broken pieces of pottery, conch shell tools, clam shell scraping tools and whelk spoons and scraping tools which could have been used in woodworking, preparing the land for cultivation and processing turtles and fishes. The next time you are looking at a TCI stamp, see if the inscription says “Lucayan Remains”.

Coralie Gardens of North Creek area in Grand Turk is one of the locations in which excavations were carried out and remains were found.

Well, we are letting go of our “old” modern logo (that our boss who has been here since 1966 always thought looked like a house falling off a hill) for a ”new” older one that represents our rich history in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

We are having the office repainted, revamped, and hanging old sepia photos from Provo’s history which our company is proud to be part of.

We could never have pulled it off without the help of Jon and Gina from eyeSpice who helped with the entire concept, photos, business cards and colours….we can’t thank them enough!!!!!!
